Since Perhutani has been certified by FSC, then all Indonesian teak furniture may considered as FSC certified. Indonesian teak plantation is managed by Perhutani, or is there any other source for teak timber in Indonesia?

IMHO teak furniture doesn’t need any certification including FSC, TFT or WWF. It’s planted! Teak timber is planted on 18 century by Dutch during colonized Indonesia. Taken by Indonesia government, and managed by Perhutani, a state owned company.

Yap, we can consider all Indonesian teak wood certified by FSC. Including the illegal logging, and stolen teak from Perhutani plantation.

FYI, there are two sources of teak timber in Indonesia :
    1. Perhutani, state owned company which managed teak plantation and state forest.
    2. Private teak plantation; timber planted by individual usually villagers because the high demand and high price.

Indeed Perhutani need to be certified by FSC, because its manage the state forest throughout Indonesia.

    Hi Joe!
There are another sources Joe, there are three you should add to your lists:
    1. Reclaimed teak. My grandma just sell her beautiful Javanese teak house to one of furniture maker in Jepara.
    2. Illegal logging.
    3. Half stolen teak wood. Separoh nyolong (spanyol).
    hehe
